Pride has been celebrated in Portland since the early 1970s, with the first outdoor celebration in 1976. In 1994, Pride Northwest was founded by Eric Brown, at the request of previous organizers, in the hopes of providing a long term stable steward for Portland Pride for many years to come. Now a year-round organization, Pride Northwest has programs that work to uplift the visibility of LGBTQIA2S+ people in Oregon and SW Washington, educate allies and workplaces on LGBTQIA2S+ issues, and celebrate the successes of groups and individuals in the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Ghosts of Summer Halloween Festival returns to Portland for 2 summer nights of scares.

Ghosts of Summer, Portland’s summertime festival for Halloween lovers, will return to The Redd in SE Portland, OR the evenings of August 7 & 8. The event is set to fill an entire city block with artists, vendors, haunts, educators, and performers who are ready to escape the summer heat and celebrate the spirit of the coming season.

The weekend experience features:

• Live entertainment, including drag performances by Quesa D’Mondays
• Spooky displays and activities, including an escape game by Scaregrounds PDX
• Horror Short Film Blocks presented by Queer Screams Film Festvial
• Local food and beverage vendors, including a pop-up bar by Raven’s Manor

Trapped in an isolated gas station by a voracious Splinter parasite that transforms its still-living victims into deadly hosts, a young couple and an escaped convict must find a way to work together to survive this primal terror.
